This vintage piece dates to the early '70s, though the design was modern for its time. It was created by artists Micheline de Passille and Yves Sylvestre from St. Adele, Quebec, Canada, known for their hand enameling abstract and modern designs. They went into business in 1960 and ceased operations in the 1980s. Since then, their work has become highly collectible.
This necklace is signed "de Passille-Sylvestre, Fait au Quebec, Made in Canada" on the goldtone back. The geometrically designed pendant (2"x2") has a flecked, carnelian red enamel inset. The goldtone snake chain is in two parts with each side fastening to the pendant and measures 21" in total. This collectible vintage piece is in very good condition with minor surface wear noticeable upon close inspection.
*Typical age-wear. It is VERY RARE for vintage/antique jewelry to entirely escape the tolls of time. :(
